The Client Conversation Framework

Acknowledge, Align, Explain, Simplify, Confirm.

The client conversation framework has five steps.

Acknowledge · Align · Explain · Simplify · Confirm

Step 1: Acknowledge

This means you recognize what the client is feeling or saying.

Example

“I hear you. It sounds like this feels frustrating.”

Step 2: Align

Connect with what the client wants.

Example

“You told me you want things to feel more stable at home.”

Step 3: Explain

Explain how the next step connects to their goal.

Example

“This appointment may help because it connects you with someone who can support the symptoms you have been dealing with.”

Step 4: Simplify

Make the next step easier.

Example

“We can write down the number, what to ask, and what time to call.”

Step 5: Confirm

Make sure there is a clear next action.

Example

“What is one next step you feel willing to take before we meet again?”

The Full Formula

Full formula

“I hear you. I am not here to force you. I want to understand what is making this difficult. You told me you want ____. This step may help because ____. We can make it easier by ____. What is one next step you feel willing to take?”

This framework keeps the conversation respectful and focused.

It helps the client feel heard while still moving toward action.
